Vikasa encourages potential students to reach out to our alumni and ask them first hand about their experience. For more details on selecting your perfect YTT please download our YTT guide.

Vikasa Yoga Academy is fully accredited for both 200-hour foundation and 500-hour advanced certifications. The certificate you’ll receive on graduation day will allow you to teach yoga anywhere in the world. A 200-hour course is considered a standard foundation in yoga teacher training schools worldwide, which is a good way for intermediate yoga practitioners to make significant progress in their journey. Alongside other certified YTT schools, Vikasa yoga offers a 300-hour advanced training program (some other schools offer a 500-hour program, as we do, but we also allow this to be taken as the separate 200 and 300-hour courses, which combine to cover the curriculum of the 500-hour program).
When you complete our 200 hour YTT program, you will receive certification from the Yoga Alliance that considers you a qualified yoga teacher, certified on an international basis as an instructor able to teach students safely and effectively. The five week or 300-hour course consists of three modules that are 100 hours each and is registered with the Yoga Alliance. Graduates (who must complete the full 300 hours) will be given a RYT-500 certification upon successful completion of the course. Most yoga studios prefer to hire teachers who have taken multiple trainings or training at an advanced level. In order to qualify to teach yoga anywhere you will need a minimum of 200 hour certification.
Before embarking on your yoga teacher training journey, it is important that you understand your own purpose and requirements so that you can choose the right program.
