While there is a lot of attention placed on connective tissues, Yin Yoga also looks into our energy points and channels – bringing together traditional Hatha Yoga and Chinese Medicine. Yin Yoga examines in greater detail the mental aspects of yoga. Cultivation of stillness and the Buddhist concept of mindfulness, is one of the main intentions of a Yin Yoga practice. Practicing Yin Yoga alongside the more active, dynamic styles, will give you a more balanced level of health – Yin in harmony with Yang.

Annie began her spiritual journey to ‘find happiness’. Her healing journey has guided her to realizing that happiness comes from within. You can cultivate harmony in your life with the suitable yoga practice for your individual needs.
Through her personal healing journey and teaching experiences, Annie created a yin yoga sequencing formula that will help you tune to your feelings, regulate your nervous system, and step into your truest potential all while understanding your authentic self.

Training In Paradise At Vikasa Yoga Retreat
The 100 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course takes place at Vikasa Yoga Retreat on the tropical island of Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand.
It is said to be built upon a bed of rose quartz crystal, giving it a unique healing vibe – perfect for the art of yoga. Koh Samui is a lush, green island and you’ll be surrounded by soothing plant-life such as coconut trees, banana leaves and the perfumed scent of frangipani flowers. You’re never far away from fine, white-sand beaches, clear, azure ocean and breathtaking natural waterfalls set amidst thick jungle.
Where will I stay during the training?
Vikasa offers a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets which brings us a diverse community of people from all walks of life. Our Prana Cabanas are located beside our private beach and for those wanting more “hotel-style” we have Lotus Pad accommodation.
All rooms contain air conditioning and are cleaned regularly by our friendly staff, to ensure your stay feels like home away from home. You have full use of the entire Vikasa on-site facilities. You’ll be settled in to your own little bubble of yogic paradise, including a stunning infinity pool, three mini pagodas overlooking the ocean (where you can deepen your practice alone) and a secret beach for Vikasa residents only. There’s also free Wifi, Spa and the Life Café.

Vikasa is located in Koh Samui, Thailand. Vikasa is located in the south east of the island, close to Lamai and approximately 20 minutes by taxi from Koh Samui International Airport (USM).
The best way to get to Vikasa is to fly into Koh Samui International Airport (USM). There are daily flights into Koh Samui from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and others. Alternatively, the Vikasa team can also arrange your pick up from the airport. Flying is the quickest route, but tourists and yoga enthusiasts can also travel by train and ferry which takes approximately 13.5 hours.
This will depend on where you are from. For details of Thailand’s visa arrangements with specific countries see here.
Although tourist visas are generally required, there is an exemption for travelers from 30 countries (Australia, UK, USA, France, Germany, Sweden and others) who wish to travel to Thailand for 30 days or less. If you are a citizen of one of these countries you do not need to obtain a visa. Note that if you plan to stay for longer than 30 days, it is possible to obtain a short extension from the immigration office on Koh Samui at some point during your stay.
If you are not a citizen of one of the countries with which Thailand has specific visa exemption or waiver arrangements, you will need to obtain a 30, 60 or 90 day tourist visa before arriving in Thailand
Anyone is welcome to join this 100 Hour Yoga Training. You do not need to be a yoga teacher and there are no prerequisites to join. It can be advantageous to have some previous experience in practicing Yin Yoga, but most importantly that you possess a passion to learn the benefits of Yin Yoga for self-development and/or teaching professionally.
Yoga clothes, tropical climate clothes, and swimwear. Yoga mats and props and towels are all provided. You may want to add an excursion to your program such as a waterfall hike, in which case a pair of sneakers would also be handy.
You will receive a certificate of completion of 100 hours of training. This course will qualify and enable you to teach Yin Yoga upon completion, however to become a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, you do need to complete a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training also. If you already hold a 200hr certification, this will count as 100 hours of continuing education with Yoga Alliance (100 YACEP).
Koh Samui is a beautiful tropical island located in the Gulf of Thailand. It is approximately 90 minutes from the mainland via ferry, but is easily accessible via airplane. It has key infrastructure such as a small international airport, good medical facilities (including hospitals), banking facilities (including ATMs), good wifi coverage and good roads. It is possible to drive around the entire island in around 90 minutes, and visitors generally either travel via scooter or taxi as walking is difficult. Vikasa is located between Chaweng Noi and Lamai in a quiet area of the island. It is possible to walk from Vikasa to nearby beaches, but guests generally stay on the Vikasa premises or rent scooters or taxis for trips to nearby markets and shopping malls. The weather is generally hot year round, with temperatures often around 30 degrees celsius. This breathtaking island provides a perfect environment for practicing yoga due to its remote setting, natural surroundings, beautiful beaches, and untouched seas.
We recommend that participants download the free lifestyle guide and read up on the Vikasa Lifestyle before arrival. If you don’t have time to read it that’s alright too, simply bring an open mind and an open heart. You can also begin integrating weekly yin yoga practices to prepare for the course if you wish to.
