At Vikasa, we take food seriously
We believe that gastronomy is not just about handing out plates of food and drinks to people, but that it comes with a responsibility, a responsibility to keep people’s well-being as a top priority. At Vikasa we have designed our menu to balance both flavor and fun alongside health and nutrition, so that you can enjoy incredible, delicious meals, whilst resting in the comfort that the food is as good for you as it tastes.
When you immerse yourself in a Vikasa journey, you may stay just a few days or even up to 1 or 2 months. The longer your stay, the more you will feel the positive effects that the Vikasa Lifestyle offers, and the food is a huge part of this.
Your Daily Meals
Everyday at Vikasa you will enjoy brunch and dinner. Brunch is served between 9:30 -11:30am with options such as freshly squeezed juice, tea and coffee, fresh sourdough toast and homemade spreads, muesli with yogurt or chia seeds pudding, veggies with speciality in-house organic dips, fresh salad and of course a variety of tropical fruits. You can also choose to order freshly cooked options such as eggs your way, a fluffy omelet, roast or steamed veggies or scrambled tofu.
Dinner is served between 6.30-8pm with each night based on a different global cuisine. Self-serve options include a nightly changing soup, salad and vegetarian protein dish plus a set meal that changes nightly according to the theme, such as a fragrant Thai curry, homemade falafels and hummus, healthy Mexican bean tacos or lentil bolognese pasta. Seafood and chicken options are offered several times a week, alongside the vegan and vegetarian options.
Embracing Diversity!
This way of eating or this style of cuisine may be a little new to you! Initially you may question if you are getting all the nutrition that you need, especially whilst being so active at Vikasa.
Well, we have good news for you. Our head chef (award-winning German chef Boris Lauser) designed the menu specifically by taking these considerations into place to ensure that you are properly fueled throughout your stay. You can arrive at mealtimes, load up your plate with all the delicious options available, and know that the food you are enjoying is abundant in nutrition, carefully crafted to balance all your needs. Every meal includes plenty of good quality protein, healthy fats and smart carbohydrate options as we know how important these are whilst you are at Vikasa (and in life in general of course!) Also note that our food philosophy values clean, fresh, locally sourced ingredients and we avoid artificial flavors or preservatives, refined sugars or highly processed oils. We take advantage of the abundance of incredible produce in this part of the world and use healthy alternatives for any common ‘nasties’ found in regular restaurants.
You will consistently find the entire Vikasa team, including Boris himself, enjoying the meals on a daily basis in the Life Cafe, because we know how good and nutritious it is. Our team lives and breathes yoga and wellness, and we know how beneficial this way of eating is for this specific lifestyle.

Timing of Meals
The timing and frequency of the meals have also been carefully constructed to work with your yoga schedule. You’ll work up an appetite in your morning yoga classes (and not have the challenge of practicing with a full tummy!) The brunch will easily sustain you until dinner time. If of course you do want to top up with anything in between, guests sometimes like to order a fresh cold smoothie, or grab a healthy protein ball from the dessert fridge. These options are additional cost, but always available.
What about allergies/food preferences?
While you may have your own beliefs or certain food preferences, we really encourage you to stay open to our food philosophy during your stay. We trust that if you enjoy all the options available, you will feel the difference- in the most positive of ways. We have had many guests repeatedly tell us how the food has helped them to improve their sleeping patterns, kick a sugar habit, feel lighter and stronger, have more energy or greater mental clarity. You may find that over your time at Vikasa, your old cravings disappear, or your common digestive woes vanish. You may just feel an overall sense of vitality. That is the power of the food we eat 😉
If you have chosen Vikasa, we can guess that you like food (so do we) and not just any food- you are likely very conscious of the food you eat in your daily life. We respect that. And for anyone that has serious food allergies, we do our best to cater to these when you communicate with us before arrival.
The menu is about 80% plant-based to which we add eggs, lean fish and occasional chicken options. Every meal offers options from all 5 food groups for a balanced plant-based diet (plus optional animal proteins.) If you make use of the full offer and enjoy the variety available to you, you can be sure all your needs are being covered.
For the most part the menu is also gluten-free and dairy free. We also clearly label the use of nuts, garlic and onions if you wish to avoid these. At Vikasa we really enjoy the flavor and nutritional benefits that onion and garlic offers, however, we know some people do have sensitivities. Again, if you have severe food allergies, do let us know before arrival. Please note while much of the menu is gluten free, we cannot safely cater to celiacs with severe gluten allergies as we do use gluten in our kitchen and there is a risk of cross contamination which we cannot avoid.
Come and EAT with us!
Boris has had over 15 years experience in raw and plant-based cuisine plus ever-growing knowledge on the latest nutritional science information. Boris spends half of the year at Vikasa, making sure that his own quality standards are met and executed in the kitchen and that the food is prepared and tastes exactly as intended. Boris created the menu so that by eating this way everyday for weeks, months or even years, you will enjoy all the nutrition that you need for a healthy and active lifestyle.
So, come and fill up your plate, dig into all the flavors and options available, keep an open mind to the daily changing dishes and cultivate an awareness around how the food is supporting you whilst you are here. By the end of your stay, you might be keen to implement some of these ideas, concepts and recipes into your life in a more long-term way.
